Our fundraiser was a success! Our very first Sip and Support fundraiser, which was generously sponsored by iVideo Technologies, was held at The Wine Spot last Sunday! Thanks to you, we raised over $14,500 dollars to renovate the kitchen at Mercy House. Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets, donated, and came out to make the event a success!
Sip and Support raised money to fund the kitchen renovation for Mercy. Jen, our community leader, spoke about how Gloria, one of our oldest Core Members, has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to cooking. She loves to talk with assistants and “order them around” in the kitchen. But, because she uses a wheelchair, it’s hard for her to be in the kitchen in it’s current state.
When we remodel the kitchen, we will remove a peninsula in order to open up the layout. We will add more storage and replace the cabinets. This renovation will create a more functional space where everyone can be part of the cooking process.
